COVID-19

Almannavarnir

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our team at Hvíta húsið worked closely with Almannavarnir to communicate a constantly changing situation to the public. The challenge was to get important information across quickly and clearly, while creating a sense of safety rather than fear.

I worked closely with illustrator Viktoria Buzukina on the visual storytelling, developing storyboards and finding simple ways to explain complex information through illustration and motion. We created a series of animated films that were adapted into multiple languages, while the flexible visual system allowed us to respond quickly as new information emerged.

Over the course of the pandemic, I animated and produced a large amount of content across social media, digital banners, print, signage, school material and campaigns. The work changed constantly, but the goal stayed the same: make important information easy to understand and help people navigate an uncertain time.
