Jazzoo

Jazzoo is a colourful animated world created around the music of Swedish jazz quintet Oddjob, with illustrations by Ben Javens. Through playful animal adventures, music and animation tell stories without the need for words.

I worked as part of the animation team at Stockholm-based studio Alphaville over an extended period, contributing to a large production spanning a TV series, feature film and other formats.

I had a lot of creative freedom in developing the movement and animation for my sequences, from storyboarding to the final animation. One of the biggest challenges was working with the anatomy and personalities of so many different animals, finding ways to make their movements feel natural, playful and connected to the music.
